Come and celebrate with: Actor/Documentary Producer Dean Butler, who portrayed Almanzo
Wilder on the television show “Little House on the Prairie” and producer of **”Almanzo Wilder, Life Before Laura”** new documentary on the Wilder family. Author William Anderson, who has written several books on the Wilder and Ingalls families. Writer Barbara Walker, author of “The Little House Cookbook”. Enjoy the performances of Miner Institute’s Morgan Horses and trainer Karen Lassel. For their first public appearance Star and Bright baby oxen. Walk in Almanzo’s footsteps and enjoy the many other planned activities that will be on the grounds for this special day. Food and music will be under the Vincent Pavilion. July 2 & 30 CHILDREN’S STORY HOUR –A reading August 6 & 27 from the works of Laura Ingalls Wilder – Ages 4-7 - Children must be September 3 & 24 accompanied by an adult who remains for the Story Hour Time TBA
September 27 ANNUAL HARVEST FEST 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Civil War Encampment; children’s activities including scarecrow making, pumpkin painting, and 19th century games; textile demonstrations; live music and food for purchase (Buildings open for viewing – no tours available)
December 6 CELEBRATE CHRISTMAS WITH ALMANZO
11:00 AM – 3:00 PM
House, Museum and Gift Shop open – NO TOURS Christmas shopping with free gift wrapping. Books, clothing, collection of “Little House” DVD and special Wilder Farm gift baskets available. Enjoy complimentary homemade cookies and apple cider served in the Wilder family kitchen and two readings of the Christmas chapter from “Farmer Boy” in the Wilder family parlor. Children’s activities indoors and outdoors (if weather permitting)
